Senate House, University of London
Senate House is the administrative centre of the University of London, located in Bloomsbury, just north of the British Museum. This landmark Art Deco building, designed by Charles Holden, was completed in 1937. It famously inspired George Orwell’s Ministry of Truth in Nineteen Eighty-Four. Today it houses the University’s Central Academic Bodies and Senate House Library.
